Jana Walzner

Jana Walzner is the Digital Officer at the Port Authority Bremen – Hansestadt Bremisches Hafenamt. In this role, she is responsible for the strategic advancement of the Authority’s digital administration processes and leads key projects at the intersection of public administration, IT, and the maritime industry. Her main areas of focus include the modernization of nautical specialist applications, the further development of the Port Authority’s document management system and the establishment of a cross-agency portfolio management for digital initiatives.
She places particular emphasis on integrating the technical standards of Port Call Optimization into the Port Authority’s digital strategy and ensuring that these standards are consistently considered in every new technical development — thereby contributing to a sustainable digital future for the ports of Bremen and Bremerhaven.

Prior to her current position, she served as Digitalization Officer for the Municipality of Lilienthal, gaining extensive experience in municipal law, data protection, and administrative modernization. Earlier in her career, she held positions in administrative law and human resources within the Free Hanseatic City of Bremen.

Jana Walzner holds a Bachelor of Arts in Public Administration from the University of Applied Sciences Bremen. Her professional ambition is to bridge technological innovation with the needs of modern public administration and to shape digital transformation in a sustainable and practical way.
