Tom Amershek leads a team of solutions architects at Verizon Business Group with a focus on private 4G and 5G networks, as well as IoT solutions for both public RAN and private cellular networks. The architecture team focuses on solutions leveraging both the public and private Edge which are key to the adoption of private cellular using licensed or unlicensed spectrum. Aside from the mechanics of maintaining solutions architecture principles, Tom’s responsibilities include innovative technology assessments, customer workshops and demonstrations, and supporting new product launches.
With experience in both the public and private sectors, Tom’s industry career has touched every facet of wireless and wireline communications including core routing and switching, security, cloud, fiber, telephony, and software services. Specific to wireless technologies, Tom has practical experience surveying, developing, and deploying solutions for WiFi, WiMAX, LTE, and NR networks. Tom holds degrees in Mathematics and Computer Science from Misericordia University.
