Amir Ghods is the founder and CEO of SMATS Traffic Solutions specializing in data collection from next-generation IoT sensors, crowdsourced and location sources. The data is ingested by iNode – a cloud AI-powered analytic platform that brings value-add visualization and insights to end users. Amir founded SMATS on his vision for safe and efficient mobility where the roadways are not congested, accident-free, and equally shared between all road users.
Amir has over 15 years of experience in traffic data analytics, traffic control, optimization, and simulation. He was the recipient of awards from the Transportation Association of Canada (TAC), the Canadian Institute of Transportation Engineering (CITE), and the Canadian Council of Motor Transport Administrators.
Amir received his Ph.D. in Transportation Engineering from the University of Waterloo in 2013. He holds master’s and bachelor’s degrees in electrical engineering.
